Rehan J paid it forward! Rehan volunteered to hunt around the
playground for Max to let him know it was time to go home. Saved Max's
brother Sam from a chore he did not want to do. Thank you Rehan!!

Max M did a good deed. He was in the car as we drove by the
corner of South Orange Ave and Old Short Hills Road. He noticed a
cracked and leaning utility pole. He was very concerned that it could
fall cause and accident and wanted to report it to the proper
authorities. Max made sure we did! On his insistence, we reported it to
PSE&G.

Good Deed: my (Tuscan Kindergartener) daughter Hannah helped
me sort, wash and fold my own laundry. I recently broke my foot and so
it hard to get around and my daughter has been wonderful about helping
me and taking care of her daddy, but this
was definitely above and beyond and I got the help without even asking.
It wasn’t until after this that Hannah’s mom said she should probably
pass along the card to me since she had done such a nice thing — what a
cool way to learn about the P-I-F Challenge!

I moved to maplewood in 1955. Two children attended Tuscan school. They still sing the Tuscan school song!
My husband worked in town in many committees the most notable was to build the town pool. Most residents know of the pool and many children swim all summer. When we came here there was no pool. My husband swam every day in summers, until he died at age 89.
Thank you for the kindness and meeting a young neighbor as they are all younger than me.

I took Sofia to the library this afternoon to play 'Bingo'. There were five children playing the game. When 'bingo' was achieved, the child won a prize. Sofia won two rounds of the game (so she got two prizes). All the children won a prize except for the boy sitting next to Sofia. We were on the last game and Sofia was close to winning again. She told me that if she won she would let the boy next to her have her prize. A minute later, the boy won after all!

My name is Wes, and I am currently touring the country in the Broadway tour of Jersey Boys. While in Tampa, FL, I received an awesome care package from Lincoln K.! It had chewy candies (which I love), a Star Wars notebook, Easter egg bubble blowers, and my favorite- some Keurig K Cups!

I received an anonymous, very welcomed packet of chocolate miniatures yesterday, with a little note that said," To sweeten up your day". What a pleasant surprise! It did, sweeten up my day, and I was able to share it with one of the Tuscan library volunteers. Someone (I did manage to figure out who it was) thought about me in the middle of her very hectic, busy life. Thank you so much. I am inspired to pass on this act of kindness in the very same way. - Mrs. Baltin

Brooke, Natalie, and Jill S. offered to give me a ride
home after babysitting for them so that I wouldn't have to walk home. It
saved me time and was very helpful even though it took away time for
them to play and do other things that they had to do. - Aly S.

When
I visited my daughter and her family, my grandson, Damian, gave up his
room and bed for my total comfort. He was kind, gracious, and insistent
that I should be accommodated in every way. It should be noted that he
is 11 years old and almost as tall as my daughter, and acted in a
modest, unassuming manner.

Hi , I am a retired elementary teacher so I appreciate projects like this. I am presently in Cape Coral, Florida. You can call me a Snow Bird, because I will be heading back to Grosse Ile, Michigan shortly . My summer home is in Michigan and my winter home is in Florida.
My pay it forward act was to make a big Easter Basket for some little girls that came down to visit their grandfather. Normally, their grandmother would have an Easter basket for them here in Florida, but she passed away recently.
I got a nice note from the girls thanking me for the basket and how thrilled they were because their grandmother always had a basket for them when they got here.
I hope your project continues for a long time. There can never be enough good deeds.

Mrs. Bracey knew that I hadn't been feeling well for a few days. Whenever I am unwell, she always checks in on me to see if I need anything and will often call me at home to check in as well. Last Friday Mrs. Bracey was going out to get lunch and asked if I wanted anything (1st act of kindness!). I said, "No, thank you," because my stomach was too upset to eat. When Mrs. Bracey came back to school, she gave me a soda because she knows it sometimes helps an upset stomach (Kindness #2!). I was so happy to have the soda - it did help my stomach! I didn't ask for it, but Mrs. Bracey got it for me anyway. I am so thankful for her caring and friendship! She is always looking out for me. I think that I began feeling better just because I knew that she cared for me!

Carmela saw that I was exhausted after working all day, then being the volunteer co-director of her Tuscan school skit at night, I had given dinner after we got home, all the chores etc, of baths, snacks for next day, it was late, and I hadn't changed from work yet.
She folded 2 big bags of laundry that had piled up. I told her to leave it, but she insisted because this was the "act of kindness" she wanted to give to me for always taking such good care of her. I told her to save it for the kids at school, but she said still could give acts of kindness at school too.

My son, Matthew W., 2nd grade noticed the plants needed to be watered
when
he came home after school. When he was done he asked what we were
having for dinner and decided to write the menu on a chalkboard. He then
cleaned the table and placed a battery operated candle in the middle.
It was so sweet and thoughtful.

My son Ellery in Maplewood, NJ helped carry groceries from the shopping cart to the car without being asked. He also helped his brother clean-up his toys without being asked. This was especially nice because Ellery wasn't responsible for making any of the mess, but he cleaned it all up for his brother.

The good deed I received: roses from my mother
I received this card from my mother, Bernice Popp, who gave me two white roses. She gave them to me to lift my spirits and give me inspiration as I have been working hard as a high school librarian as well as attending graduate school. I placed the roses on my desk, by my computer, and when I look at them I think of her kind spirit. Actually, my mom displays kindness every day of the year and even when I lived abroad, she found ways, such as letters and care packages, to make me feel loved.

Dear Tuscan Pay It Forward,
My name is Bernice Popp and I live in Maplewood, NJ. I just received a very pleasant surprise!!!! When my door bell rang ... I saw my neighbor Sam C. with his mom Allie standing on our front steps. Sam was holding a plate of brownies he just finished making all by himself. They smell delicious :-) He said he wanted to surprise our family with a special desert. The brownies were just what we needed because we were having company for dinner and I did not have time to make desert. This was a lovely act of kindness.
The number on my card is 388. I will pay it forward tomorrow by visiting my cousin who is recuperating from hip surgery.
I think the pay it forward challenge is a wonderful idea.

Sophia, a student at Tuscan, and her family gave my preschool students who were greatly affected by Hurricane Sandy some toys that she and her sister had outgrown. We shared some of the toys with the Meadowlands Family Success Center too and it made many children happy! Great Job Sophia and Tuscan School (my alma mater!)
